Google I Wanted “Hurrican Ike” Not “Hurricane Ioke”

I was doing a quick search today to find out some information on the huge hurricane that is about to slam into Texas called “Hurricane Ike“.

I Googled “Hurricane Ike” and got:

hurricane ike

Google thought I might have meant “Hurricane Ioke” a 2006 category 5 hurricane. Thanks, but no thanks!

How did the other search engines do?

Yahoo:

Ask.com

Ask Hurricane Ike

Live.com

MSN Ike

These results surprised me because I figured if Google messed this one up then the other search engines must have as well. Looks like I was wrong. Hell the other search engines results look a lot better!

I guess this just goes to show that even the all mighty Google gets things wrong sometimes.
